As part of its core business University of Venda, besides teaching and learning has as one of its thrust community engaged research geared towards addressing community poverty-related challenges and development needs of the communities in the Limpopo Province and in SADC rural communities.
The University of Venda has made its name in renewable energy research and promotion projects in the province through the work of the team running the Green Technologies Promotion (UniVen GreenTech Promo) Drive led from the Department of Physics under the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Agriculture of the University of Venda.
